Hours: Full-time | Mon-Fri | 8:30am-3:30pm

We're working with a specialist secondary school in Manchester that supports pupils aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students who may have struggled in mainstream education due to social or emotional challenges. The focus is on building trust, promoting positive behaviour, and helping each young person rediscover a love of learning.
This is an ideal role for someone who's resilient, calm, and compassionate, with a genuine desire to help young people reach their potential. You'll play a key role in supporting behaviour, encouraging engagement, and celebrating progress-no matter how small. The school places strong emphasis on teamwork, consistency, and creating opportunities for success.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you'll:

Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with emotional regulation and classroom engagement

Help implement positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches

Support teachers and pastoral staff in creating a calm, consistent, and inclusive environment

Build positive relationships that help pupils develop confidence, communication, and self-management skills
What you'll need:

At least 3 months' experience working with young people (ideally with SEMH, behavioural, or additional needs)

A confident, empathetic approach and ability to remain calm in challenging situations

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
