Electrical Installation Engineer / Electrician
Location: Peterborough, Grantham, Spalding, Sleaford & surrounding areas

Hours: 39 per week (Mon–Fri) + on-call rota

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer (or qualified Electrician / Electrical Technician) ideally based around the East Midlands (Peterborough, Grantham, Spalding, or Sleaford, etc.) You’ll use your electrical installation skills to support the setup, commissioning, and servicing of industrial pumping and control systems across the Anglian region.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical installation, commissioning, service and repair of 3-phase pumps, motors, and control panels

Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Soft Starts, and industrial control systems

Support temporary installations and maintenance of submersible and surface-mounted pumping systems

Fault-find, isolate, dismantle, inspect, and repair electrical and mechanical components

Work both independently and as part of a team in outdoor and confined-space environments

Provide electrical support on customer sites throughout Peterborough, Grantham, Spalding, Sleaford, and nearby areas

Participate in an on-call rota (evenings/weekends on rotation)
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Fully qualified Electrician with Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent)

BS 7671:2018 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Strong experience with 3-phase electrical systems, installation, and testing

Confident working with VFDs, soft-start drives, and motor control equipment

Problem-solving mindset and flexible approach to reactive field work

Full UK driving licence
Experience with pumping systems, motors, or control gear is an advantage – but if you’re a skilled industrial or commercial electrician, we’ll provide full training on Xylem’s specialist equipment.
