Salon Manager
£25k-£33k per annum depending on experience
35-40 hours across weekdays, evenings and weekends

Our client based in the Wrexham area is currently looking for a Salon Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The Salon Manager will oversee all day-to-day operations of our client, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, salon performance, staff management, and compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets, motivating the team, and maintaining a welcoming, safe, and profitable salon environment.
Performance Objectives
Operations & Business Performance

Manage the daily running of the salon, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Oversee customer service standards and ensure all clients receive an excellent experience.

Achieve and exceed salon sales and service targets (e.g., tanning packages, product sales).

Monitor and manage salon budgets, expenses, and profitability.

Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
Staff Management & Development

Lead, motivate, and supervise Sales Assistants and Support Assistants.

Create staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance reviews for team members.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and probation management for new staff.

Handle disciplinary and grievance issues in line with company policies.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, including tanning regulations, hygiene, and safeguarding.

Conduct regular risk assessments and safety checks.

Ensure age verification and Challenge 25 policy is strictly enforced.
Customer Service & Marketing

Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Support marketing campaigns, promotions, and local outreach to drive new business.

Build customer loyalty through excellent service and membership schemes.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Previous experience in retail, salon, leisure, or hospitality management.

Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a team.

Confident communicator with strong customer service and complaint-handling ability.

Sales-focused, target-driven, with experience achieving business goals.

Sound knowledge of health & safety compliance and staff management procedures.
Desirable

Experience in tanning, beauty, or personal care industry.

Knowledge of salon software / booking systems.
-
Local market knowledge and ability to drive business growth.
